Why do you need to migrate to GA4 now?

Google has officially announced the sunset of Universal Analytics by July 1, 2023, replacing it with Google Analytics 4. This means your current UA property will stop receiving new data after that date.

The sooner you can get GA4 up and running, the more historical data you’ll have when UA sunsets.

What will happen if you don't migrate to GA4:

Google Analytics stop processing new data

After July 1, 2023, no new data will be sending into Universal Analytics. After the next few months, you may even no longer be able to access the old Google Analytics property.

Connected reports stop working

Since Universal Analytics no longer process data, your analytics reports such as Looker Studio reports will stop working

GTM tags no longer work

All of your UA tags in Google Tag Manager will no longer work after July 1, 2023. You will need to create new GA4 tags when you switch to GA4.
